Amongst the four uncapped players in the SPAR Protea team of 15 players battling with Malawi, is an 18-year-old fresh out of school.
Nicola Smith (Southern Stings), Kamogelo Maseko (Fireballs), Sikholiwe Mdletshe (Crinums) and Tshina Mdau (Fireballs) could add to the total of 134 players who have represented the South African senior national team after isolation (in 1994).
Maseko (18 years and 7 months) could become one of the youngest players ever to wear the Green and Gold on court. Maseko, Smith and Mdletshe all represented the Baby Proteas in the last 12 months.
Mdau, who has been playing senior netball since 2014, has travelled as a reserve with the Proteas, but are yet to earn a test cap.
