Pretoria, South Africa – From the office of Netball South Africa President, Ms Cecilia Molokwane, members of the media and the supporters of the team are hereby informed that Ine-Mari Venter has been withdrawn from the SPAR Proteas team due to an injury sustained during training whilst the team was preparing the Wales Test series and also getting ready for the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup taking place in Liverpool. Ine Mari plays for the Melbourne Vixens and has earned 11 caps for the SPAR Proteas and this would have been her maiden World Cup.
Sigi Burger who plays for the Surrey Storm in England has been called up to replace Ine Mari and has already joined the team which is currently in Cardiff where they will play two test matches against Wales. Sigi has 13 caps for the SPAR Proteas and this will be her first World Cup as well.
