The three-match test series between the SPAR Proteas and Malawi’s Queens is done and dusted with some very impressive stats arising from it.

👉 The SPAR Proteas have now won the last five meetings against Malawi. This last occurred between 1995 and 1999 when the SPAR Proteas won seven matches in a row against the Queens.

👉 It was the very first test-series win against Malawi. The teams have only once before (in 2007) squared off in a bilateral test series which ended 1-1 (one match was drawn).

👉 The winning margin of 41 goals in the final match is the SPAR Proteas’ biggest ever over Malawi.

👉 Four players, Tshina Mdau, Kamogelo Maseko, Sikholiwe Mdletshe and Nicola Smith got to play their first test match, taking the total number of Proteas test players since unification in 1994 to 138.

👉 Kamogelo Maseko became one of the youngest ever players to debut for the South African senior team. She was just 18 years and 252 days on the day of her debut.

👉 It was the very first time that test match netball was played in North West.

👉 Protea shooter Lenize Potgieter, who was named as the top shooter of the series, shot 76 goals from 80 attempts for a goal average of 95%.
