Netball South Africa is excited to be hosting the 2023 Netball Word Cup and the South Africa company that has been set up to manage the 2023 World Cup (NWC2023) is in the process of securing suppliers and service providers to assist in achieving its goals.

We hereby invite interested bidders to submit written proposals to tender for the primary NWC2023 commercial agency role which will involve all aspects of managing broadcaster rights and the achievement of significant national and international sponsorship for the 2023 Netball World Cup.

Bidders are required to submit a written proposal to Blanche de la Guerre on or before the 15th of September 2021 by 17h00, which meets the minimum requirements set out below.

The successful bidder must:

  1. Have extensive and successful experience in all aspects of local sports marketing rights management;
  2. Interact with and take instructions from the World Netball (WN) and its appointed agents regarding the packaging, selling and marketing of the commercial rights associated with the Netball World Cup 2023.
  3. Ensure that the maximum benefits are derived from effective and efficient bundling of sponsorships and broadcaster rights offerings.
  4. Work in partnership with the Netball World Cup 2023 official merchandising supplier/agent, to produce local merchandise for the NWC2023 and effectively promote sales throughout the local and internal market, prior, during and after the 2023 World Cup;
  1. Have a proven track record in local broadcasting rights valuations and negotiations in respect of all platforms;
  2. Have a sound understanding of the ICASA’s regulations, particularly in respect of the sports broadcasting as well as the underlying legislation;
  3. Demonstrate proven success in commercial rights packaging;
  4. Be able to provide media evaluations and analyses on local sponsorship spend and ROI;
  5. Must be able to create a global and local strategy;
  6. Have relevant work experience with Netball South Africa and the federation partners.
  7. Understand Netball in South Africa – inclusive of local structures, participation and spectators trends and demographics.
  8. Have more than 15 years of experience in the local sponsorship industry.

Shortlisted bidders will receive feedback by no later than the 20th of September 2021 and will be required to complete a formal tender application.

We reserve the right to request any bidder to provide clarity and information on short notice and bidders are required to respond to the Company within 48 hours of such request. Failure to respond timeously may result in your proposal being disregarded.
