Johannesburg, South Africa: The Ellis Park Arena was once again filled with Netball lovers as day 6 of the Telkom Netball League got off to a fiery start.  Tags indicating favourites, dark horses, and strugglers are gaining momentum.

The Kingdom Queens played up against Tshukudu in a Division B encounter. The match went down to the wire, with the Queens edging them with just one goal, a holistic performance from both teams, but in the end, it was the shooting circle of the KZN side that worked much better. Phindile Sithole walked away as player of the match, after helping her side to a 42 – 60 triumph.

The Limpopo Baobabs had a brilliant start in the first quarter leading by 2 goals, however, they couldn’t maintain the momentum and cause an upset against the Northwest Flames. Baobabs Coach Emily Mathosa made a couple of changes in the goal attack position as it seems she’s still trying to find a player to compliment Muhluri Hlatshwayo in the goal shooting position.

The Flames side is still struggling in the goal-shooting (GS) circle, Coach Elsunet Du Plessis however later introduced Jade Egwatu to the GS position, and she was a changer for the Flames. The Northwest side currently finds themselves in 5th position, while the Baobabs are languishing at the bottom of the A division log standings.

The Lillies versus the EC Comets:
Comets are the dark horse as they continue to cause upsets in their division, they have won 4 out of their 5 games under the guidance of Zandile Njeza and Jeany Steyn, meanwhile, The Lillies started slowly but found their way back but just couldn’t keep that intensity and close it off against the Comets.

The last match of the day, saw the Aloes battle it out with the Southern Stings. The Aloes started strong but at the later stages of the game ran out of gas. The Stings were dominant even though a lot of their players couldn’t be in the day’s squad due to illness, but the changes made by Coach Nicoline Martin, being able to move her players around and spare some legs also played in favour of the Stings, proving to be too strong for the Aloes.
