World Netball has appointed Charlotte Scholtz as the World Netball Technical Delegate for the Netball World Cup 2023 (NWC2023) in Cape Town, South Africa. This is a voluntary, part-time role.

On her appointment Charlotte comments: “I am excited to be appointed as Technical Delegate for the event. Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr once said, “a mind that is stretched by new experiences can never go back to its old dimensions” and I am confident that being part of the NWC2023 will be a magnificent opportunity of growth and development for myself and South Africa.”

The Technical Delegate is instrumental for the event – reporting to the World Netball Board and CEO they liaise with the Host Organising Committee and the Host Member Netball Association prior to and during the event. They oversee the competition planning in addition to providing technical advice and sharing best practice to ensure the event is delivered to World Netball rules, regulations, and world class standards.

World Netball CEO, Clare Briegal comments: “Congratulations to Charlotte on her appointment as Technical Delegate. Charlotte has played a pivotal role in numerous national and international netball events including being part of the Local Organising Committee in 2012 for the inaugural FISU Netball Tournament and Event Manager for the FASU Netball Tournament and University of South Africa Netball Tournament. Her passion for netball is clear; Charlotte has experience as a Technical Bench Manager, she has been involved in training technical officials, and is a qualified netball coach. World Netball looks forward to working closely with Charlotte, the NWC2023 Organising Committee, and Netball South Africa on the delivery of a world-class netball event.”
