Netball South Africa is saddened by the sudden passing Miriam Mdluli, who is a former player and selector for Netball South Africa. Miriam sadly passed away on the 15thof May 2020 after she lost her battle to cervical cancer.

 

“Miriam’s untimely passing caught all of us by surprise and we are deeply saddened by this. As Netball South Africa we would like to convey our most sincere and deepest condolences to her family at this time and to the entire netball family at large. As a federation we value the contribution that she had and the role that Miriam played as a player and a selector, respectively. We have lost a soldier however we will continue to treasure her memory in our hearts, said Netball South Africa President, Cecilia Molokwane.

 

Miriam Mdluli was a netball player through and through, she belonged to a team in Thokoza, East side of Johannesburg called the Winners Netball Club. She played for the Eastern Gauteng team between 2000 – 2004. She also served as the under 19 selectors in 2008 and in 2009 she was the under 21 selectors as well.

 

Miriam will be buried this weekend and as a federation we would like to again send our condolences to the family. Your loss is as great as our loss, we are with you at a time such as this.
